The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination will conduct a Joint Entrance Examination – 2002 on 12th and 13th April, 2002 at Agartala, Udaipur and Kailasahar for preparing merit lists for admission to Engineering, Medical, Technological and other Professional Degree Courses against seats reserved for the State of Tripura including seats of Tripura Engineering College.

Each of the subjects of Examination will be of 100 marks. Candidates seeking admission to various Engineering/Technological Courses (Group-A) will have to appear in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and those seeking admission to Medical/ Agricultural, etc. courses (Group-B) will have to appear in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Those desiring to take chance in both of the above groups will have to appear in all the four subjects (Group-C).

To be eligible for appearing at the Examination a candidate

1. Must be a Citizen of India.

2. A Permanent Resident of Tripura and either the candidate or his/her parents must have been residing in the State of Tripura continuously for not less than 10 (ten) years immediately prior to the date of making application for appearing at the Joint Entrance Examination – 2002.

3. Must have passed/appeared/due to appear in the year of Examination at the Higher Secondary Examination of Tripura Board of Secondary Education/Central Board of Secondary Education or equivalent with the subject in which he/she desires to appear at the Joint Entrance Examination.

4. Children of All India Services Officers borne in Manipur Tripura Cadre and the children of the employees of the State Government posted outside Tripura will be eligible to appear at the Examination irrespective of their prior stay in Tripura.

5. In case a candidate is not a Permanent Resident of Tripura but his/her parent is an Officer on deputation to the Government of Tripura/Officer of the Central Government working in Tripura and has served in Tripura continuously for a period of 3 years or more and passed Higher Secondary Examination from an Institution of Tripura, he/she is eligible for seats of Tripura Engineering College only.

6. If a candidate is allotted a seat in the past inside or outside the State on the basis of result of Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination he/she shall not be eligible to appear at the Joint Entrance Examination this year and in subsequent years unless he/she has surrendered the allotted seat in writing within specified time to the appropriate authority.

Reservation of seats for SC/ST candidates will be as per State Government approved norms. One seat of Tripura Engineering College is reserved for son/daughter of Defence Personnel either killed or invalidated in the War-field or in an accident. The seats of Regional Engineering Colleges reserved for Tripura will also be filled up from merit lists of this Joint Entrance Examination. However, the candidates aspiring for the seats of Regional Engineering College will have to apply to the Regional Engineering College, Silchar, as per their advertisement in addition to appearing at the Joint Entrance Examination of Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination.

Application Form and Instruction and Information sheets may be obtained either in person or by postal request from the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination Counter in the ground floor of the building of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (Northern Part) Gurkhabasti, Agartala, on submission of crossed Postal Order/Bank Draft of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty Five) only in favour of TRIPURA BOARD OF JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION payable at Agartala Head Post Office/a branch of any Bank at Agartala, w.e.f. 10th January, 2002 to 5th February, 2002 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on all working days. All postal requests must be accompanied with a self-addressed envelope of 30 cm x 13 cm size and a postage stamp of Rs. 4/- affixed it. Application Form collected from kiosks shall also be accepted provided the applicant makes payment of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty Five) only in the form of crossed IPO/Bank Draft as stated above at the time of submission of form to Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination and if the Application Form is in order and complete in all respects.

Application with all enclosures and a crossed Postal Order/Bank Draft of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) only for SC & ST candidates and of Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two hundred fifty) only for other candidates in favour of TRIPURA BOARD OF JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, payable at Agartala Head Post Office/a branch of any Bank at Agartala must reach the address given below on or before 5th February, 2002 from 11 am. to 2 pm. on all working days.
